James McG, SCV Gridiron (1/9)

Coach Andy Smith of the Hart District Wildcats Rugby Football Club announced that his squad of area players have been invited to participate in the Pac-10 Rugby Tournament hosted by UCLA.

UCLA Coach Scott Stewart is a big fan and supporter of prep and youth rugby and invited several prominent high school teams from throughout SoCal to participate in the Prep Division this year.

The tournament will feature all the Pac-10 teams which are the best sides in the nation, including #1 ranked and defending National Champion California Golden Bears.  This is a great opportunity for rugby enthusiasts to see some of the best rugby in the land, with the best coaches and best collegiate players.

Added to this experience, the Wildcats will have an opportunity to avenge their state championship 2OT loss to arch rival, Back Bay of Newport Beach.  Coach and the players are fired up to have this opportunity.

The tournament runs January 20-21at the UCAL campus.  Click here for more details.
